Cascade Creek Restoration Project: This projected is funded through several local, state and federal sources; Growing Greener 1, Great Lakes Basin Program, and the S.O.N.S. of Lake Erie. Located at Frontier Park this project has restored 500 feet of stream bank and reduced sediments loads into Presque Isle Bay by 68.19 tons per year! Trout Run Implementation Plan: The district has received a 319 NPS grant to develop an implementation plan on Trout Run and two nearby tributaries, part of the Lake Erie Watershed. After the completion of the plan the district will apply for funds to implement the recommendations to reduce pollution into Lake Erie. Lake Erie Environmental Education Compendium: The district is designing a environmental education resource compendium. The compendium will provide relevent lesson plans, activities, projects and contact for area professionals. It will be available to educators throughout the Lake Erie basin in order to assit in providing successful environmental education programs.
